Disappearing companions (spoilers for original campaign?)

Post by purefiction »

I've been playing NWN2 original campaign (I know I'm a little late to the party, but I was out of town). I was going to Old Owl Well and I encountered Grobnar, accepted his invite to join my party, and when the screen came up to sort out my party members, I noticed that Khelgar was no longer available. I accepted Grobnar but when I got to Old Owl Well, he was not a member of my party. Instead of his picture, there was a dark, generic-looking picture. Where are my companions disappearing to? I assume this is a bug? Can they be retrieved?

Thanks in advance.

It is in fact *the* most common bug of the OC.

It's a familiar problem.

Basically summoned familiars are causing conflicts.. you need to unsummon them and their master's action feature that doesn't "auto-summon" them.

Reload to a point in the game where this hasn't occurred and do that. If you need more information on that use the search function of the forum.

Scott's account is accurate and his workaround the way to do it - however annoying it is :) .

You can for example look for information in this thread as well:
