Need help with my character

Post by Janos1 »

Hey all, i have a character who has 10 lvls to put into something but im not entirely sure, i was thinking 7 levels in sorcerer but i wouldnt know what to put the remaining 3 levels in, maybe rouge but im not sure, so thats why im asking, if it helps my stats are, 10 14 13 18 16 18, also, as a bonus question, do bard caster levels apply to other arcane classes, for example if someone has 4 levels in bard and 6 in sorcerer would they be able to cast level 5 spells like a lvl 10 sorcerer would? this is 3.5 btw

No, a bard's caster level is his own and will not add to any other caster level.

However, depending on what books you're allowed to use, there are several prestige classes that might interest you.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Well, depends on what kind of sorcerer you want to be.

If you want to be a very basic "I blow the stuff up" type of sorcerer, you might check out Elemental Savant (complete arcane), Argent Savant (complete arcane), Wild Mage (complete Arcane), Archmage (Dungeon Masters Guide), Frost Mage (Frostburn), etc etc.

There are all sorts of defensive based classes, transmutation based ones, polymorphing ones, dominating ones (mindbender particularly is a fun one), and some generic ones as well to just give you a very basic focus like the Incantatrix from Players Guide to Forgotten Realms, it just gives you bonuses to metamagic feat uses.

Hrrrmm interesting, lets say my characters abit of a manipulator, a schemer who wants the world at his feet, who seems quite friendly yet has an off putting demeanor about him, what prestige class would you suggest matches that quite well? (as i said before, all sourcebooks and supplements are allowed)

Mindbender is a good pick for you, from Complete Arcane.

Sorcerer 5/Mindbender 5. Mindbender is from complete Arcane.

After mindbender is completed, take 5 levels of Archmage.
