new to icewind dale

Hi, this is the first time that i will be playing icewind dale, ive been playing the bg series a lot though, i was just wondering if there was any mods like ease of use for bg that i should install just to make the game go smoother, i do not have any expansions installed so i hope thats not a problem the only thing i have is the official patch 1.06

If you have HoW, I'd install that and the patch.
Ease of Use mod is very useful. I never play without it.

The Ease-of-use mod can be found on the page below. You'll have to scroll a bit to see the mod, but you should be able to download it without a problem.

thanks for the help do i need to start a new game for the effects to take place or can i just install them on my old save

Starting a new game is safest, I assume.
