- What is the procedure for upgrading from 7.0 to this? Can you just run the installer and it goes "over the top" of 7.0? Or do you need to uninstall/reinstall the old game/patch first? All I could find was an executable, I couldn't find an external readme.

- Are both the Basic and Plus versions contained in the distributed executable? Or are there separate downloads for each somewhere?

My current install is 7.0 Basic. Planning on a 7.1 Plus play-through now. I finished the game so savegames aren't an issue, but I'd still be curious about savegame compatibility between patches. Is there an official Wesp website or should I just stick with the various community sites like I do now?

Hal900x, both the basic and plus patch are included in the .exe that you download. It's a drop down menu to change it. I think there might some problems with using your old save games. I just upgraded myself, but before I did, I deleted all of my savegames to be on the safe side. I'll start fresh soon enough.

Yes. As for the rest of your questions, Sir Twist already answered them correctly. I don't have a homepage, but you can find me on the Planet Vampire forums too.

I'll stop if no more fixable issues pop up, but I have no idea when this will be :) !

Thanks for the fast answers and the fine mod. Is there a way to bind "blood heal" to a hotkey so that it fires instantly? I use a bind to vdiscipline_int for some of my disciplines because I don't like the way the intended hotkey binds only select, but don't fire, the selected discipline. If not, no big deal. I know it wasn't in the released game so perhaps there isn't any bind support for it, but if so I'd like to map it.

Edit: nevermind, found the workaround in the FAQ YOU PROVIDED. <- Derp

downloading 7.1...

I found that you have to add the .exe extension to the filename when you save it, otherwise it doesn't show up as an executable.

Is there anywhere a complete list of changes of all fanpatches ?

I am especially interested in finding out where those books are now.

The changes are listed in the patch readme, there is also a walkthrough on GameFAQs that includes all the patch changes...

Becket doesnt give Scholarship 5 as the Walkthrough coming with the patch claims, only up to 4 maximum.

And I really hate a LOT of trouble with elevators. The one in the Empire Hotel, the more often you use it, the more often you have to press the button for the lift.

Even worse is the one in the Downtown Skyline Appartment. To get to the 4th floor, you have to point to wildly different points than where the button for 4 is.

Jus wanted to thank again for this great patch.

Game doesnt run perfectly with it - towards the end, crashes are on the increase.

But thats to be expected, as the fanpatch cant fix the errors in the executable.

Still, its great. :)

I got a problem with the flame thrower. I cant buy ammo for it at all.

Means I have one of the two possible loads, and once its used, I'm done. Only thing I can do is throw it away and buy another one - but that one still only has one of the two possible loads.

I picked it up from Bach, if thats important.

Dunno if its really a problem of the patch or a problem of my game. I keep getting worse and worse bugs - such as textures missing and replaced with red placeholders, and stuff.

Once I even entered my home and things where falling halfway through the ground, and i couldnt get my computer get to work at all any more.

Thankfully I'm near the end.

Oh, and when I went up in the Sabbat level (hollow-something hotel), my Heather was alife and kicking again. Sadly I couldnt focus on her. Still its a bug, though an unimportant one.

By buying ammo, do you mean that none appears at a store or when you select the item and click "buy" nothing happens?

Did you start a new game after you applied Wesp5's patch?

As far as I can recall, there are only a handful of locations where you can find flamethrowers or their ammo, and on Bach is not one of them. Can you throw the flamethrower away, buy it and pick up the load you just tossed?

I've played the game at least seven times, each time with Wesp5's patch and have never encountered so many bugs. I don't think the issue is with the patch.

If you play with Plus, the flame thrower is near Bach.

And yes, I applied the 7.1 patch before starting the new playthrough.

I get a lot of bugs with graphics and stuff, both on my old Windows XP and my new Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).

Correct, but some of the vendors may only have ammo for it after you talked with LaCroix.

Especially the red texture bugs shouldn't be there at all, so maybe your saved game or something else got corrupted. You were right about Heather's comeback though, so I just fixed that for 7.2, many thanks!

The problem is NOT that the Vendors wouldnt have the ammo. The problem is that the game claims I already would have maximum ammo even if the weapon is empty. The "Buy" button has changed to "Ammo full!" even if I have no ammo at all. The only thing I could do is drop the weapon and buy another one.

That walkthrough is finished, though, and as a Toreador it wasnt really that much of a problem. Celerity + Auspex + the bigger one of the machine guns (had to spend 200 of the maximum 300 bullets, though) and Ming Xiao was history.

And everything else is a joke compared to Xiao.

Hm, I don't know what you mean by the weapon is empty, but as far as I can remember you can only buy one fuel canister with one in the weapon. Otherwise it would be even more overpowered.

Um, you can buy two. I couldnt even buy the first load the last time, though.

And for Ming Xiao, that was only 20% or so of her hitpoints per load. Not exactly "overpowered" if you ask me ...

On my Malk, the flamethrower works now fine, i.e. I could buy both loads. Will dearly need them against Xiao, too.
