A Tribute to Jon Irenicus *SPOILERS*

Video: A Tribute to Jon Irenicus *SPOILERS*

Hey guys,

I was working on a video recently, and it's now finished!

I always thought such a character deserved a tribute, and a good one. So I made one, in the form of a 10:57 video.

I put the accent on music so, and as I mention during the video, it is also a non-official tribute to the BG2 soundtrack.
I personally think this is 11 minutes of nice stuff, so... why not watch it and tell me what you think? ;)

Remember that there are spoillers!

It's my first video really! :)

Two things.

Irenicus dialog with - SPOILER WARNING - Ellesime is missing, and it was simply awesome. Would be a great addition.

Also "One of the best video game villans" .. what? Name two others who compare to Irenicus (and no, the bad guy from Mario Bross doesnt count) ;)

A nice vid.

Hehe, I agree, but the very limit of video length on YouTube is exactly 11 minutes, not even 1 additionnal half of a second. And my video is 10:57 in length so I can't really add content! : /

> Also "One of the best video game villans" .. what? Name two others who compare to Irenicus

I've watched several villains top 10, villains top 5 and such, and I must say that there are others who are nice.

I personally feel that when only video games and computer games are concerned, Kefka (Final Fantasy III/VI) is also a very nice villain, as well as Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII.

> A nice vid.

Thanks!

I can name two in a second: Master from FO and TTO from PST .
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

FO? TTO? PST?

You might want to quit the abbreviations.

He probably means Master from Fallout 1 and The Transcedent one from Plancescape Torment.

I see.

Well, I think that Master is certainly a cool villain, but lacks a bit of... humanity, to say the least. As far as I can tell though Fallout has no abbreviation. :) None that I know of anyways, and I've owned the game for a decade.

I never played Planescape Torment.

Any comments on the video?

Arguing such matters are pointless, as this is a matter of experience--how can anyone make the claim without having played plenty of titles?--and what touches an individual personally. So let's not get into that, here, and stay pretty much focused on Daxtreme's request for responses to his video. :)

If anybody does want to play the comparison's game, however, feel free to start a new thread for that. And be prepared for some intense arguments. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Bump!

Then I will be forced to challenge people to find "bad" things about it. (Constructive criticism is a synonym, heh...)

So I can finally get some feedback. :D

I'm glad you did the three week bump, as I wouldn't have seen this. Very fun video; BG2 deserves all the tributes in the world and this was an excellent one.

Thank you.

Year bump! I just recalled I had made a thread on this site.

I've received many cool replies and feedbacks concerning this video, and I thought that maybe more people would like to see it!

I've released it a little bit more than a year ago, and I still think it gives Jon Irenicus helluva tribute. ;)

Good video, although you could have shortened the written messages and put in the scenes you're missing, it would make him better, he's so good because of his humanity, and lack thereof.

Yea, I've received a few comments on that subject, the lack of the Ellesime dialog. Well, it's too late to edit it now, but criticism taken nonetheless. ;)

Thanks!
