Companion Kills in New Vegas

Post by Jeramonius »

I noticed that I get the exp for any enemy my followers kill, even if I didn't hit them at all. Cool, right? My question is does it also count towards my total kills for the challenges? Or is this too much to ask? I just hope it does because of the perks that can be acquired by killing enough enemies of specific types. My followers keep ending the kills that I start, and I am worried that I am not getting credit for them.

You have to kill them yourself. I'm pretty sure of that. It would be too easy otherwise. :p
Else you might get perks for a rifles when you're constantly using melee weapons.

Yep, it seems that for challenges you have to do to the killing. So, if you are doing those, it's perhaps best to leave companions somewhere and travel alone.
