I've been perfecting a NPC on & off for well over a year now. I just found gamebanshee today & after reading numerous posts like what I see. I have decided that I would like to ask for some opinions myself.
Before I get in too deep I want it out there that this character is pretty well developed in my head & I am very committed to his current design, but really need an out of my group take on him. Also keep in mind this will be for a pretty high LvL campaign. Now that that is out of the way, lets get started.
Name: Repolius "Repo" Stormstrider
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Classes: Artificer (Eberron Campaign Setting), Rouge, altered version of the Windwright Captain (Exploer's Handbook from Eberron). There will be more of Artificer than Rogue & Captain will be finished if all goes to plan.
The basic idea of this guy is to act as Handler/Supplier/Transport to the party. Handler: He uses his contacts all over Eberron to find work, while sometimes slipping task to further his own agenda. Supplier: He uses his contacts in various black markets to come by wanted or needed items for the party. Needed items are usually defined as a must to complete a job & supplied for half price, while wanted cost 1/4 again for Repo's commission. He will sometimes craft items if the price is right. Transport: Self Explained.
Now about the altered class the difference from the book version is no racial Limit, dragonmark limit, & must have piloted before but just not for House Lyrandar. To make up for the lost reqs. Repo does not gain uncanny dodge, Dragonmark Control, Aquire Ship, Rebuke elementals & will instead recieve one bonus feat the 2nd LvL from the Artificer Feat List. The reason for the changes were purely because I was to lazy to craft my own class, But if someone knows where something like this is, I'm all ears.
This is just for flavor.
Repo is a privateer, & as such was not supplied a ship. It is rumored he stole or hired someone to steal the plans to his airship. This makes his the only one of it's kind. It's name is The Firefly & engraved in to the wheel are the words " I'm a Leaf on the Wind. Watch how I soar."

Great idea, although I do see one problem.
So say I *PC* ask for a item, then he takes off to look/get it for that character.
1: How will he know where to find the guy again? Without a "Meeting spot" its a loss of money on Repo's end. Or if he makes them pay up front its a lost of money on the Characters end.
2: How will he travel to each place without taking so much time? If the item is only available in place 1000 miles away it would take him along time to get to and from. Then he would have to worry about problem one.
I don't know just what I had to say other then this great idea.
