Hi Guys,
After playing Heart of Winter, just before the end of Icewind Dale to return stronger for the endbattle , I have some questions...
3 times +4 weapons for Final Battle ID
I read that there are 3 [+4]-weapons to be used against him, but unfortunately I only have 1 of them. Is there a way to get those other 2 weapons after all at this time ? I do have a savegame before going to the final battle, so if I should or could to some travelling throughout ID, please let me know.
Disarm traps during Final Battle ID
In the last battle, after Poquelin has changed into a devil, it’s clear that the floor contains traps to dispel my magical effects all the time. Ofcourse, let my major enemy walk over the complete surrounding, he "forces" me to dispell my own effects. My question is if my level 23 thief is able to disarm the traps.

some questions...

You only need +3 weapons or better to do 100 percent damage to the end boss and you should have found lots of them. So just start this fight. It was winable even before HoW was released.
For finding and disarming traps only the skill does matter, not the thief level. I don't remeber if the traps were disarmable (I wouldn't do this during a fight anyway, you can highlight them by searching if you want to know which spots to avoid on the next attempt), you don't need to disarm traps to win this battle.

I've never been able to disarm one. Tried a few times in my first few run throughs. As I don't put any skill points into pickpocketing my thieves had pretty a high trap skills to start with (though I definitely never took one to 23rd level) and then the 20% bump from the potion of perception (IIRC) still wasn't enough. I "seem" to have a vague memory that my thief's percentages might have even "maxed" out at some point, but I could easily be mixing that up with another game.
Highlighting the traps as kmonster mentioned and then just avoid stepping on them works well. I haven't bothered trying to disarm in my more recent games. There are a lot of them to begin with and for me, spending that time trying to disarm them means keeping one member of my party tied up when they could be better employed on taking down Behlifet.
