Thanks to several user requests, I've set up this forum for our members to post their personal critiques of any RPG, MMORPG, or RPG hybrid ever developed. As long as the game is present in our RPG database, it should be fair game for a review here in this forum.
To keep everything nice and tidy in here, here are a few guidelines:
- Every game, expansion pack, and downloadable addon should be given its own dedicated thread, so please search the forum before posting your review. If there is a thread already created for the title you'd like to review, please post your review underneath the original thread. However, in the case of a re-release (such as "Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition"), a new thread can and should be created.
- The subject of your thread should be the exact title of the game you're reviewing with no additional text. For example, if you're reviewing "Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor", please label the title as such instead of truncating it to "Pool of Radiance" to avoid confusion with SSI's original title. No other characters or words should be present in the title (ie. "Deus Ex Review" should just be "Deus Ex"). In the event that two games share the same name (ie. "Neverwinter Nights"), please add the year of release in brackets at the end of the title (such as "Neverwinter Nights [2002]").
- In order to coincide with the user rating functionality present in our RPG database, it's suggested that overall scores use a 5-point rating (1/5 through 5/5). Additionally, I encourage you to consider a title's age when reviewing it. System Shock 2's graphics might be worthy of criticism if the game was released today, but they certainly weren't in 1999. As such, please consider the game's original release date when discussing its graphics, audio, UI, and other elements.
If a review is exceptionally well-written, it may even be featured on the main GameBanshee website (unless you prefer it didn't). Finally, feel free to post reviews of old games, too - with the availability of DOSBox, emulators, and Good Old Games, I'm sure there are plenty of members who would like to be informed about role-playing titles from the 1980's or 1990's that they may have missed.
