Deathclaw den on east riverbank (spoiler)
Deathclaw den on east riverbank (spoiler)
Playing NV and wanted to do a little recon east of the river before committing myself to anything with the various factions who want my help. I swam all the way to the dam, no dice there but there is a place further south on the east riverbank where you can climb beyond the beach. Started to walk up and it was crawling with deathclaws. Went home, slept, stocked up on stealthboys, stimpaks and .308 ammo for the sniper rifle and went hunting. Killed maybe a dozen and searched the area east and north of the gully. The big reward? A single broc flower. Apparently deathclaw dung isn't even a decent fertilizer. Noticed that there was more navigable area to the southeast but quickly determined there are more deathclaws in that direction. So does anybody know if there's anything down there worth exploring, or would I just be wasting more ammo & resources?

Curiosity finally got the better of me, and just as Rad indicated there are no locations and no secret route to let you scout behind the Legion lines. However, after killing all the deathclaws and taking time to do a thorough search, I did find a couple of dead prospectors who had a couple sets of power armor (), a multiplas rifle and some assorted supplies.
Spoiler
one of them is pretty sweet Remnants power armor

You are correct. Other than the Auld Lang Syne quest, this is the only place you can get said armor, which has the highest DT in the game. It is possibly the hardest area in the game due to the density of the deathclaw groups, but it's quite a reward.
