It's one of the green protection scrolls. You can usually find them at different temples.

Do you mean Mazzy? I've never heard any of the NPCs make any remarks in regards to this quest at all. What exactly does she say?
Stworca is right. I was referring to Saerileth
In my experience, if you cast Protection From Undead on your character and then summon Kangaxx, he won't initiate dialog, so, you can hit him until he's "Neard Death" and then talk to him, which should trigger the script.
I never was able to initiate conversation with him if all present had Protection from Undead.
Alternatively, you could steal the Ring of Gaxx from him twice.
Now that's serious Gorgonzola mixed with Danish Blue!

galraen: I've tried it again and it worked. Are you sure? Are you using any fixpacks or running any mods?

That is one nice ring. Nothing like having a pet Demi-Lich or a pet dragon.

Does a leopard have spots?

I have to be honest and admit I can't remember when I last ran a party through BG2 without mods.

It did happen the first time I played the game though, and I don't think I was using mods then, well apart from ToB. I've always been super cautious since, but still wound up chasing that bloody Near Death Demi-Lich around like a cat after it's own tail and having to give up eventually and reload.

The not-so-cheesy way might be Spell immunity. It's a great spell that has saved me and Aerie (Symbol: Death slays her instantly throughout most of SoA) in particular countless times. The only problem is that Maze is conjuration while Imprisonment is abjuration, so you cannot have both, but that's the thrill, isn't it?

I should have known. :D As you well know, I don't use any mods, except for the official patch. Someone I still haven't gotten bored. What's worse, is that I'm playing a Blade that made it all the way from BG1.

You can always just use two scrolls anyway. I find that Demi-Liches are the only ones that require then. And even then, Spell Immunity works just as well as Protection from Magic.

I did just pick up spell immunity... Gonna give it a shot tonight. In other news, back to the original topic, I GOT RING OF WIZARDRY. I picked up Jaheira for a few seconds to grab the baron ployer quest chain. The second I did the harpers came and summoned us.

In conclusion, you dont have to have Jaheira in your party for a certain amount of time, a certain amount of time just has to pass. Anyhow, I sent Jaheira upstairs, ruined their ****, and looted the ring. The description says that the ring was commisioned by me at a high cost... Meaning the natural way to get it is in fact through the planar sphere; which I also obtained yesterday.

Should be hitting Kensai 9/Mage 16 tonight; dragons look out.

Thanks again everyone!
