Bigger inventory capacity??
Bigger inventory capacity??
Hi all again.
I searched forum and so,but found none.
I think having common inventory is great idea,in general. But huge problem for me is capacity.. I have two warriors and it would be logical they could carry a lot of stuff. 70(don't know how they measure inventory, maybe lb?) is not even closely enough..
In every bigger quest i find myself leaving items i would like to sell later on because i'm full (60% are potions, alternative weapons, and all sorts of things). And even worse,i must destroy them, not just put them somewhere....utterly stupid.
I'm not sure bit i think in BG2 if you increased your strenght so would the capacity of inventory got bigger.
So i'm asking is there any way to increase this?
I saw a merchant with a backpack but that is just 10 more, not enough..
Can i buy more of these backpacks?
Thanks for advices.

Yes, you can have more backpacks. Each backpack you buy increases the space by 10, but you cannot have more than 125 regardless of how many backpacks you've bought.

You could always use the editor to make it as big as you like of course!
It did strike me as weird that one person could carry 125 items, irrespective of weight or volume, but two people couldn't carry any more. Having said that, to be fair, even 70 items is more than generous. I'd like to see someone trying to carry 70 suits of plate mail, it would be amusing to say the least!
It's never enough when we're playing though is it, we're just plain greedy I guess!

Thanks for all the replies.
Greed has nothing to do with that. It's pure logic.First, how do they measure amount of what you can carry? Plate armor according to them is same as one dagger, why? Those are two items but are not as nearly the same weight. If 70 is number of items, that's even more confusing because one potion is not 1 item (again, according to them). Second, if one person can carry 70 (something?),why can't two persons (let's say warriors) carry 140??
I mean that doesn't make sense at all.
70 is fine amount for one person,i have no problem there, but i have four characters in my team so carrying, as i said before, alternative weapons, potions, crystals or whatever and some goods to sell is quite difficult.

Hmmm,is there a good and simple tutorial where and how to edit that? You could always use the editor to make it as big as you like of course!

Sorry,i don't know where to get that mod or how to install one. Do you know some links maybe? Thanks.PC users can add mods that increase the carrying amount.
In the editor go to Savegame_Partylist, look down the list and you'll see Save_Game_max_items, the number should read 70, or whatever the current limit is, you can change it to whatever number you like.
The limit is based on the number of items, but things such as potions stack, so no matter how many you have of the same type of potion, they only count as one item. Armour and weapons don't stack, except for arrows which stack up to 99, then a new stack is started.
Te system is irrational, one dagger counting the same as a greatsword is as you say is illogical. There should be a limit on what one person can carry, but it should be based on weight and/or size.

There is a downloadable content module called Warden's Keep that provides additional inventory. If you have the Ultimate Edition, you should have the content already available. If you have just DA: O then I'd advise to play thru the game to accumulate points so that you can redeem them and then download the module.
I'd rather be part bull than a complete sheep.

Amongst other pleasant conveniences, it provides you with practically unlimited storage and can be accessed from practically anywhere. Warning though.. don't abuse some of its features

There is also storeage_chest.dazip which adds a storage chest to your main camp just next to the representatives of the races you recruit into your army (mage, elf, dwarf ...). Unlike Warden's keep it isn't a DLC that you have to buy and you can use it any time once you've set up camp for the first time. I regularly use it to keep items that are beyond the present cpabilities of my current "team" or store presents that I don't plan to give until later.
