Can't find water's edge +3

Post by willsanders84 »

I'm playing vanilla SoA. Obviously, it should be in house Jae'lat, in a cabinet, but it isn't. If it's a ToB add on, I'll happily do without it, if it isn't, I WANT IT! I've already cheated it in, but won't use it unless it's some kind of bug.

Thanks guys!

hmmmm

Im checking on various forums, one particular individual claimed he found it in the Sahuagin City. All others believe it is in fact in house Jae'lat. Though I just played through that area and I dont remember finding it, even with ToB installed.

You might as well just use the one you pulled out of the magical abyss of shadowkeeper/CLUA. The game has obviously screwed us... BUT WE SHALL FIGHT BACK!

Isn't that the scmitar that looks just like regular scmitars? Without a special drawing? I seem to recall finding one in Ust Natha and wondering it wasn't "drow-made". Wouldn't the possession of one qualify for capital punishment there?

Yeah, it'd look a bit strange wouldn't it. And considering its statistics are WORSE than a drow scimitar, you'd definitely be under suspicion. It does in fact have a 'special' picture, it looks like Drizzt's scimitars (not that I've ever killed him :P ). It's slightly bizarre that I did CLUA console it in - I don't have ToB installed, so it MUST be in the game, but where? I can certainly say it wasn't in house Jae'lat when I looked, and I looked as soon as I had the ward stone, the acquisition of which is a time based thing, so I'm reluctant to accept that the scimitar is a time based thing too.

Where the hell is it? Thanks so far guys, and I simply CAN'T use the one I cheated in until I've got to the bottom of this. Surely someone knows?!

Thanks for your help so far!!

Maybe it's in the house of high priestess Quile? The areas are the same, and you fight a similar group of drow, maybe the places got confused? I don't have a savegame at that point to check...

Ok, so I just got there with my newest playthrough, and the scmitar was there in the house Jael'lat (or however you spell that). In the room on the left, first wardrobe next to the entrance. I do have ToB installed so if it's added by the expansion, I wouldn't know, though.

Excellent! Thanks QuenGalad! Baffling! I certainly checked that cabinet, however, I didn't have ToB installed. Must be that, although, it was still in the vanilla SoA item list somehow.

I will use it at my pleasure now. Nice to see you survived the fight completely unscathed too. A bunch of fighters, pff!

I am positive that ToB does not add any new weapons to SoA, outside of Watcher's Keep.

Thanks Cren. Good to know. Either I missed it, or it was a bug.

Actually, funny thing, but TOB adds unlimited 'Water Edge' scimitars in the game. Go to lvl 3 of Watcher's keep, defeat Tahazar, and rest in his room. On occasions, your sleep will be interrupted by demons, and there is one particular group (I think 5*Alu-fiends) which have +2 chainmails, +3 Scimitars "Water's Edge" and 10 Darts of Wounding each.

Otherwise yes, check the containers in House Jae'lat and you will find the scimitar there.
