The actual ending of the Half ogre island quest

Some may think that there is no ending to this quest chain but after some thought i have concluded that there actually is an ending.

After you come back from half ogre island you return to caladon only to find a gnome. He tells you that the journal you found was left there for you to find and he gives his story of why the half ogres were created.

After the conversation he says that what he told you and the journal could be completely false. Besides who would believe a random adventurer.

The only thing left to do is to expose the story to the newspaper.
It turns out that the person you sold the book to was an imposter.

This is the ending. The gnome's story and the Journal was the real story about the creation of half ogres. When they were forced to leave half ogre island they forgot to take their journal with them, they wanted to make sure no one could obtain that information so they tried to hide all evidence. After they saw you (the adventurer) helping to release the info and succeeding, they needed to kill the men giving you the quests.

Once you talk to the gnome near the end he tells you all this info that you cant help but to sell it to the media. The man is an imposter, they tricked you so they could make sure no one could get their info. now you are the only one who knows about this with no evidence to help your story. the reason the gnome's story is true is because "why would they bother to get the journal back".

That is the ending to the quest everyone thinks is unfinished.
no other npc in the game will know the story of the half ogres. the only point of this quest is to expose the story to the player.
