Noob question

Post by Dlightfull »

Hi everyone.

I've played BG1 long time ago and finished it with a fighter/cleric. Now i want to play BG2 and i am wondering how viable would be my char through BG2.

Also, is there a char that would be able to solo all the way through BG1 and BG2ToB? Because i intend to start a new BG1 game, finish it and then import the char to BG2.

Thanks in advance.

1. Fighter/Cleric should be fine, especially if you like flails.

2. Bard (Blade), Kensai/Mage, or Fighter/Mage/Thief are common recommendations for soloing, but it's possible to solo with pretty much anything if you're familiar with the game. I'd suggest Ranger/Cleric multiclass if you're a Cleric-type fan.

I'm actually not a cleric type fan tbh, dunno why i picked cleric as second class.

Bard sounds like an interesting class to try out, is it very difficult to solo using one? I just like feeling super powerfull, killing on my own everything i want :) .

Sorcerer is a solid, well rounded and easy solo pick, esp for BG2. You will have a bit trouble in BG1, unless you use wands.

Wild Mage is also very nice.

Bards get only 1 attack per round and can't wear heavy armor, but if you use the spells properly you'll be able to defeat everything. Bards are definitely more fun to solo in BG1 than mages who can't use bows, level slowly and will have to rely on very few spells for a long time.
