Force camouflage

Post by cthulhu_waits »

I have just started playing Kotor 2 and am trying a Sentinel, thinking of going into Watchman. I was looking at the list of force powers (on Game Banshee) and noticed that while Improved Camouflage and Master Camouflage are listed under "Universal Powers" when you actually look at the description of the powers it says they are Dark Side powers.

Is this true? Why would the first one be universal and then Improved and Master be DS? Why would Jedi Watchmen get them automatically if they're DS?

I assume it is. What is strange is the description of the feats are clearly taken from screenshots of the game itself, so you would assume it is right. Perhaps something that's been corrected in a patch?

The ingame lore only explicitly mentions that Sith Assassins move through the shadows and such. Watchmen and Sentinels in general are more about having high constitution and innate immunities against force effects.

This is further supported by the fact that Watchmen get bonus points in constitution upon alignment mastery. Assassin get dexterity, which contrary to constitution actually *helps* when you try to pass search/listen DC checks against your invisibility. Constitution gives you fortitude saves, implants and HP; your basic tank and a far cry from a stealthy assassin.

My guess is that since the game was released too soon, the class-specific force power for Watchmen was either cut out or forgotten, and they added the Sith one instead. Since the Sith Lords is largely a Sith oriented game, it stands to reason that they wanted to at least let the various Sith prestige classes have their appropriate powers first. I mean, they put that short Force Crush video in every trailer. The Jedi Master wasn't featured in any.

This game was first and foremost about Sith. But who knows what really went on at Obsidian when the order came to push the release of an unfinished product.

Well it's probably not a problem, I assume I'll have enough force points that even with the adjustment (modified for Cha) it won't be prohibitively expensive. Especially since I probably won't even be using it too much.
