Thieves Den Movable Pillar

Im on the 360 and just finished the thieves den quest. The movable pillar at the first right in the dining hall passage from smugglers cave doesn't work. There is no "Activate Movable Pillar" option as if it wasn't movable. I went to the other side of the pillar in the dining hall and it worked and opened, but when I closed it on the other side it again wouldnt open. Any ideas??

have you checked both sides i dod this on the pc version that i borrowed and it worked fien i havent tried on my 360 version yet though

I'm having the same problem. The wiki claims that it leads to the dining hall, but if it doesn't open from the correct side, what's the point?
