Drog's Mods and the past lvl 50 mod

Post by GawainBS »

How do these interact? Is it even possible to use the past lvl 50 mod with Drog's mods?
Getting stuck at lvl 50 kind of sucks, so I hope it is.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can use the 50+ hack with the UAP (Drog's unofficial Arcanum patch). IIRC, he says so somewhere in the UAP's documentation.

Other than that, caveat emptor.

Thanks, I was in doubt because of the facts that the 50+ mod requires you to replace the .exe.

Darn, I thought just using the .mes files wasn't enough, so long since I fixed my game I'd forgotten how I did it. Could you provide a link for the level cap remover Gawain, for Crenshinibon's benefit?

It's still available on Terra-Arcanum's web page.

Terra-Arcanum :: Cap Remover

Edit: wrong link; it's the Level Cap Remover hack that's compatible with the patch. :o

Thanks for the offer Gawain, but I don't need it, but Crenshinibon might.

Thanks for the thought galraen, but having beaten the game twice, I still have yet to reach level fifty! Both of my characters were 45 and 48. The magically aligned archer was able to solo Stringy Pete in real-time mode before even hitting forty!

I wouldn't even know what to do with the extra character points! Both, technologist and the mage had over ten points left unspent. Aside from potentially getting more disciplines, I wouldn't know what to do, because honestly, a lot of things you can make, well, you can find better versions of the items.

So true, and so very sad! Well except for Therapeutics, Chemistry and Herbalism.

It is! Because say, the Machined Plate Mail is outclassed by the Iron Clan Armor and the Elephant Gun (which can be found), is outclassed by Droch's Warbringer. From what I read on the Terra-Arcanum forums, the potions provided by the Therapeutics line give you around thirty-two extra ability points.

I'll definitely invest in that for my aptitude-neutral character... right after I beat Baldur's Gate again! :p

Also, this has bothered me for some time, but does having a lot of companions make your game lag?

Question

When I am at (for example) level 35 and I pick up a follower who is at (for example) level 25 and we fight together for ever, will he/she able to reach level 50 or he/she will be just at level 40?

IIRC, they level whenever you level, so they're stuck.

I'm pretty sure there's a bugfix that addresses that issue; IIRC you continue to acquire XP even at level 50. When you would've leveled up, you don't; but your followers continue to do so.

What I don't remember offhand is whether this was part of the official 1.0.7.4 patch, or a separate update. I'm thinking it's the former; in any case, if you haven't patched the game, do so (for multiple reasons) ASAP.
