Hi Everyone,
First time posting on this forum, so please forgive me if this has already been asked. I pre-ordered The collector's edition from HMV.com and this morning I recieved the following email:
We're getting in touch to let you know that all or part of your recent order from hmv.com has been cancelled:
Order no: ######
Qty Format Artist Title Price
1 HC PC GAME WITCHER 2: ASSASSINS OF KINGS: £69.99
The suppliers have told us that this item is now discontinued, as the manufacturer is no longer producing it.
Amazon.co.uk still seem to have it listed, but play.com doesn't. Does anyone else know whats going on?

Hmm.. I am fairly certain that the one at Amazon.uk is not completely "legit". The seller is not Amazon itself but rather a third party (a greek webstore, in fact) who has most probably stocked on Collector's Edition pre-orders and is looking to make profit by re-selling at a higher price, because said edition has been pretty scarce for some time now. Not a scum by legal definition but not a "direct" sale either.
Apart from HMV, the only retailer I know of that still seems to offer that pre-order is zavvi.com, who still have it listed. I haven't pre-ordered myself though, so I can't comment any further. That e-mail from HMV does seem pretty curious, combined with the shortage of Witcher 2 Collector's Editions I noticed in the market almost 2 months ago.
