Timing on Long PC Quests **Some Spoilers**

Post by Philos »

I have completed SOA a few times, over the years. Wanting to try some of the vast plethora of potential PCs and kits I also have a few games saved that are various stages of chapter 2. :o (sound familiar?)

Anyway, I do not have any mods installed and have completed the game as a Paladin (a 2nd time as Undead Slayer), mage, cleric, and dual class fighter/cleric, and thief/mage. Time wise, none of these PC quests seem to be protracted out over a great length of time and it worked out fairly well to do the next segment of them between doing the other stuff in Chapter 2.

One character I wanted to try was a Bard as I had read about running the playhouse and that sounded like fun (which it is). But that game on hold as I recently bought BG 1 and wanted to try running a character all the way through BG 1 & 2, then TOB. I built an elven fighter/mage multi, completed BG1 and have basically finished Chapter of SoA, opting to run Nalia's keep as oddly enough I never tried the fighter quest in my many previous games and had twice done the mage quest.

My dilemma for both (probably was a contributing reason I put the bard game on hold) is that I have done just about everything in chapter 2 save a couple of NPC quests (Korgan, Jan, Mazzy) and Watchers Keep. Both these PC quests are nowhere near done. I am at day 33 in my fighter/mage game (day 32 in the bard game) and have just told Lord Roenall to "go pack sand." It looks like I have about 3 or 4 more weeks of running the place before I face Lord Roenall in a showdown.

Before I head off to rescue Immy I wanted to know if these longer quests simply go on hold till I return, continue without me (would hate for that skut Roenall to invade while I am gone), or do they compress quickly once I return?

Sorry for the length of this. Thanks!

All the stronghold quests are on hold until you return from your adventure

Update to the above. I did get little "notices" in the dialog box saying that "Gold has been placed in your keep" twice while gone. The first was when I landed in Brynnlaw. Which makes sense since the voyage took a week. Got the second notice as I was about to finish the Underdark. No messengers came to request my presence of course and as you said Stworca the last portions of that quest picked right back up.
