Missing item

Post by ushsta »

I don't think I received the dusk ring from the shade. I didn't sell it, it's not on any of the followers, pretty sure I didn't destroy it. Is there a way to add it using the toolset.

PS. It seems I unknowingly traded the ring to the hermit. I thought I was trading a silver ring. Could really use it.

One ring from the shade's camp, the other from the Elven Alienage during the Endgame. Just don't let the elves there fight.

The ring of dusk you get of the shade at the forest camp?

No way!

But... but... but...

Doesn't trading the 'silver ring' get you the 'book' (scroll) which tells you about the ring of Dusk and Dawn?

That Hermit was one one of the biggest lows of the game, but with this news it's just entered the hall of retardation!

Or am I mis-remembering? (I have no memory at all of ever possessing the Dusk ring even though I killed the shade and traded a 'silver ring'.

Do you get the ring of Dawn just given to you free and gratis right at the end because they suddenly remembered they needed to put it somewhere 3 days before deadline day and stuffed an Elf encounter in the final battle section?

And while I'm in retardation mode...

Yusaris (the dragon slayer sword) - 20% fire resist.
Adoh (special item axe) - 10 or 20% fire resist.
Wade's Dragon Armour - shed loads of fire resist.

To name but a few...

All 'leading' you up to collecting fire resits items for the final battle with the... High Dragon Archdemon...

Who attacks with...

Spirit damage!

OMFG that was so retarded

Thats funny saloon . But they do give you the Corruption helm at the end for spirit res, but if you're not a warrior it just sits in your stock taunting you lol.

There are several items that can be traded. And several Items that can be bartered for.

Other "Barter" Items: Danyla's Shawl, The book you get back in the Dalish Camp for the Wolf Pelt.

Other Items to Get: Ancient Elven Helm...

Ah yes, the Ancient Elven Armour! The best light armour in the game, and arguably the best looking armour in the game!

The set which is incompletable for people who play on PC's or for people who miss the chest in Lothering then spend the whole game looking for the last piece until they go on-line to find out it's just another retardation!

Book? Wolf pelt?

All I remember is he had a helmet, a book and an acorn and all I was allowed to barter with was a 'silver ring' (mind crushing anurism trying to gess what that was while in conversation) a scarf (or the amulet you get from the scarf quest) and a pair of leather boots.

In hindsight I should have just traded the boots for the book and killed him for the acron - even though I traded the acron there was still an acorn on his body when he died!

Nevermind!

Ah yes, Cammen's Lament - One of only 2 quests in the game I could not complete! You can see why I got into retardation mode in this section!

I talked to him and he refused everything, even the free pelts. Then I talked to his girl, and she refused everything. I went back to the boy and he refused to open the conversation again. He stood there with a white arrow above his head the entire game but refused to let me solve his quest.

The other unsolved quest was also in the same location - the ill deer. Not enough points in survival apparently. But then who 'would' have enough points in survival? Maybe 1 in 10 players? I could have bought some tomes of skill to solve this quest, but decided the deer just wasn't worth 24 gold pieces ;)

I typically have multiple points in both Coercion (Persuade/Intimidate) and Survival. I think you need 2 points in survival for Lamment.

THru a cheat mod, I also have more books than I know what to do with....

Spoiler (highlight to read)
Spoiler
Doing the deer quest makes the entire clan like you, even if you are human. The storyteller is distinctly more polite, for instance. He's rude even to Dalish elf Wardens, otherwise. He's also needed for Wynne's companion quest.

You could be right, but I think one of my team members had 2 in the skill and they couldn't solve it. I honestly don't remember a coercion skill (!).

You don't get many skill points to spend, and 4 have to go into the battle skill, and probably the next 4 into herbalism in order to solve the Regiside quest (which didn't give me any reward as far as I could tell, maybe It's because I completed it post-election?). And then there's the poison skill to put points in if you actually want to try it's overly vast and indepth array of traps and weapon enhancements.

I went to the forest last, had I known earlier that a possibly crucial quest would require so much survival I would have specialised Alister in this skill after he had completed the battle ones.

Coercion. First line in the skills sheet, same sheet as Survival, Trap-making, Herbalism...

Bug Alert! I have NEVER managed to get ANY of my companions to be able to do this quest, only the Warden, despite the conversation saying otherwise.
