Good backstabber weapon for assassin

Post by cbarchuk »

I've got the Short Sword of Mask and the Dagger of the Stars. Is one preferable to the other for a backstabbing assassin?

If you're playing unmodded then the best backstabbing weapon is the Staff of the Ram. The Staff of Striking can be obtained very early in the game though. When you're looking for a backstabbing weapon you want high base dmg. If you're not into staves then Celestial Fury is pretty good option for SoA and Hindo's Doom for ToB ; there're some good choices in long swords too ( Angurvadal ).
Between DotS and SSotM the sword is obviously better because of the higher base dmg.

Yea I know about the Staff of Ram but I simply can't see my assassin backstabbing with a staff. It ruins the whole image for me. Now I've got all Celestial Fury, Hindo's Doom, and Angurvadal though it needs to be upgraded. Those are some nice ideas. I'm using single weapon style so I was just trying to figure which would best though I guess it makes sense to use the weapon with the highest damage.
