Age of Fear: The Undead King (Turn-Based Strategy Game)

So this is not quite a roleplaying game per se, but I think fans of tactically oriented retro RPGs (such as GameBanshee's Game of the Year 2009, Knights of the Chalice) might be interested to know that a new independently developed turn-based strategy game called Age of Fear: The Undead King has just been released.

Beneath the rudimentary top-down graphics lies a compelling and reasonably accessible tactical experience which spans across 2 campaigns with 3 factions, 36 individual units and a total of 30 missions. The game is divided into individual combat scenarios which are tied together by an overarching (entirely text-based and quite well-written) storyline which progresses inbetween the missions. Units carry over from one battle to the next and can also be upgraded if they get enough experience. Making sure not to waste any units is vital since there's a finite amount of money available to recruit troops over the course of the campaign.

The game is available for a discounted 50% price between April 10-17 (the discount then drops down to 25% of the full price between April 17-24). There's a tutorial-based demo available at the official website;
Age of Fear.

(Note: Since the developer has promised to give the game for free to anyone who posts about it on a given number of gaming-related forums, I should perhaps point out that I have already paid for the game and thus do not write this in order to take advantage of said offer.)
