Hi there,
I've recently begun playing through the BG trilogy again. I had never used EasyTutu before, so I installed that.
When playing Baldur's Gate I noticed getting a 10% bonus to all earned XP: a quest that would normally reward 1000 xp would reward 1100, a monster that would reward 420 xp would give 462, and so on. I didn't think much of it because, hey, it's just BG1 and I reckoned it was added by Tutu.
Now i'm playing through BG2 and it *still* happens!
I've played through BG2 plenty of times before, with nearly all the mods I use this time and I've never seen anything like this!
Anybody know what's causing it and how to turn it off? I'm playing on Normal difficulty and here's my mod list:
G3 Fixpack
G3 Tweaks
Ascension
Solarom
Tactics
Moonfruit Battles
Item Upgrade
Sword Coast Stratagems 2
Out of those, only SCS2 is new and I don't think that's what's causing it, considering the problem was also in BG1.

I hadn't heard of this and did a bit of digging:

What are your characters stats?

Actually, out of all those mods, it almost certainly is "SCSII"; although not per se exactly.
SCS now comes with a .exe modification called 'ToBEx' (look it up on spellhold studios), that adds a lot of cool features and makes previously impossible things possible.
One of the features of it is that it reveals what had always happened in any baldur's gate 2 game; the text would say you got x amount of experience, but you actually got 10% extra. All this does is show it up correctly in the combat log text as well.
You can get ToBEx and fix this to what you always thought you got; but this will actually be new behaviour, as explained above. Use the following component:
-Disable Experience Boost
Disables the hard-coded feature where the party gains 110% of the experience actually coded in creatures.
As far as seeing it in Baldur's gate, i'd imagine you used SCSI and that too must come with ToBEx.
ToBEx is fast moving to become a standard, it will almost certainly be there alongside BG2Fixpack as a must have soon enough.
I don't think it has to do with stats whatsoever.

Yes I found that thread too when I was Googling prior to posting here, but my problem is different. As you can see from the attached images in that thread, in his game mephits still give 420 xp, which then gets a 10% bonus on the character screen. My mephits straight up give 462 xp. It's bizarre.AvatarOfLight wrote:I hadn't heard of this and did a bit of digging:

EDIT: Thanks, prune1. It does seem like that is the culprit. Interesting info about TobEx. It really does seem like SCS 1 & 2 are must-have mods for any BG player at this point. Funny how much progress is still being made on a game that's over a decade old.
