Talent spamming?

Post by SirSponge »

I'm not up to speed apparently on some of the lingo. Could someone please explain what talent spamming is? I have a feeling it has to do with mixing and timing certain talents to make them more efficiant, but I want to know exactly what it is :-) . Thanks

It's nothing to do with strategy or timing. Spamming here, as in other areas, means "a constant and unending flow." That is, rather than auto-attack with weapon or staff or bow, as much of your attacks as possible are from talents or spells.

Talent spamming means you keep up mana and stamina levels as much as possible and use talents constantly, so that instead of your two handed warrior swinging and attacking repeatedly, he's using sunder armor--->mighty blow--->pommel strike--->critical strike, cycling through all the talents, then repeat until the enemy is dead.

Spamming could also mean overuse. If you pack three mages in your party and have each of them cast paralysis explosions during each battle so that your enemies are constantly paralyzed, someone might say you're spamming your glyphs.

Ahh.. I getcha. So when people talk about spamming two handed talents its basically because the cooldowns are relatively short, and you can run them one after another and repeat once the first is done. Thank you :-) .

However, you will attack faster if you time the use of your abilities to right after your normal attack has connected. Doing this, will reset the attack animation and start a new one (of your ability). So you generally want to do this:

Attack (See Blood) -> Animation Cancel to Ability -> Attack (See Blood) -> Animation Cancel to Ability and so forth.

With this, the two handed warrior essentially becomes as fast as a Sword and Shield warrior. Also, note that some abilities hit the target twice, although it's not mentioned within the ability description.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
