Anyone know what happened to the official forums for Witcher?

Both my own bookmarks, and any links that Google comes up with, are getting an error (404 type) message about no such page. With the release of Witcher 2 tomorrow, you'd think that they'd really want to be online with it now to take advantage of the release date excitement!

I'm guessing this has something to do with their new account system they are going to be using. They are probably updating their forums to work with the new system as well.

Mind you, this is just my guess from a post on their website. Here's a quote

"For the time being we would like to ask you to create a new user account when registering The Witcher 2. Due to technical reasons, you will temporarily be unable to log in and register your copy of The Witcher 2 via the account you created for The Witcher 1. Please be assured that this relates only to old accounts created in connection with registering the first game. This situation will be resolved shortly. Users will gain the ability to merge their new and old accounts. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Hopefully it will get sorted out soon.

I thought that I had been all over their site, and although this is my first return in here, I had seen the quote you found earlier, but I didn't see it until later, probably on the 18th. I think I'll wait it out and see if my old account works for everything after the forums are repaired.

Incidentally, I think the last time I was here, my forum rank was "Magister"; I'm wondering now what did I do to become "exalted"?

There's a two fold reason from what I have been able to find on it. One is they were redoing the forums for the Witcher 2 release. The second is that they were so overwhelmed and didn't have enough servers when the game went out that they went down due to the overwhelming amount of traffic of people trying to register their games and download the dlc content.

Irritating because I wanted to thank Corylea for her second half of the Medical Problems adventure and now I can't since she doesn't take email at her own page.
