Hello Everyone!
I have a question... can you join the Harper's?
I know you can't in an unmodded game, so is there a Mod out there that allows you to become a Harper? I'm playing a Ranger (a good class for a Harper) & I would love to have a Harper Pin of my own on my next run (I'm getting jealous of Jahiera's...)
Thanks in advance!
Becoming A Harper...
RP wise the Bhaalspawn would make a terrible harper, no matter his class.
If you want just the pin, add it via SK

I actually think the Harper's may very well let be join, if not be an agent.
1. Elminster, who probably has a say in all things concerning the Bhaalspawn, would have seen in my talks with him in BG 1 that I have not let Bhaal's taint consume me, & instead have directed it's power to do good. Also, Elminster has knowledge of Alundo's Prophecy's, so he may suspect me to be :
"During the days of the Avatars, the Lord of Murder will spawn a score of mortal progeny. These offspring will be aligned good and evil, but chaos will flow through them all. When the Beast's bastard children come of age, they will bring havoc to the lands of the Sword Coast. One of these children must rise above the rest and claim their father's legacy. This inheritor will shape the history of the Sword Coast for centuries to come......"
With this in mind, Elminster would think it best if, to ensure I don't give in to the taint, learning the ways of the Harper's. Being in an environment where Balance & good are encouraged, The Harper's may think they could use me as a weapon, one that would not only ensure Bhaal never rises, but continues to be a powerful tool to for the Harper's to use.

1) You're doing some really strange stuff with those apostrophes and it makes your posts really hard to read.
2) The Harpers are dedicated to maintaining balance between good and evil, at least on paper. This does not mean they try to be good: they are supposed to curb any outstanding influences on either side. Which is a damn stupid philosophy in my opinion, but there you are. It would be an interesting mod that would add a third faction to join, but I don't think the Harpers are a good choice here. Considering their goals, they should do only one thing to the Bhaalspawn: eliminate it, as it is a powerful entity that distorts the balance just by living and being powerful. And that's what they try. (How does the philosophy affect the power of Harpers themselves is anyone's guess )

1 - You have a point... That's something that I'm trying to fix in my writing.
2 - I may not have a total understanding of the Harper's (My knowledge is restricted to what I've read in Elaine Cunnigham's books). I understand the Harper's are a force of balance. Although, they know one Bhaalspawn will have to rise above the others & stop Bhaal from rising. Bhaal's rebirth would certainly upset the balance. The PC would eliminate Bhaal's power from all the Bhaalspwan. This would ensure that all the Bhaalspwan who had grown too powerful & had upset the balance would be mortals once more, thus restoring "Balance". I would think the Harper's would accept the PC. They would use him to restore balance by removing Bhaal's essence from his children (And the world). In the end, I think that the Harper's would benefit from working with the PC.
Anyway... does anyone know of a mod where you can join the Harper's. Or at least a mod that expands on them...
