Magic Weaponry

Post by Queen_Articuno »

How exactly does Magic weaponry work? Example: I have a Magus Staff. If my Magic Weapons skill is at 4, does that mean I have a 10% greater chance of unleashing a Magic Blast? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanx!

in the weapon description if it says lvl 4 magic weaponry then your magic weaponry needs to be at least level 4 to unleash it otherwise its just a blunt weapon

Some people have reported that the best way to do melee damage is to get MW in the 20s....which does over 100 damage a hit with a good magic weapon..

but I think this was changed in CE

For CE the spell effects are not so hot but ice on an offhand weapon is great for dualwielders. I wouldn't want ice main hand even the winter axe doesn't have enough base damage to be worth it. I had 2-3 winter axes I never used and instead always used a blade relic flame weapon along with winter dagger or frost scepter.

i just finished a valkarie/crusader and over all i think the winged avenger is pretty much the best weapon in the game espically with crushing blow. In the end I would alternate between the diamond sword of light and it and ive actually seen her do upwards on 80 points in a single blow with either weapon not to mention the magical effects of rune strike

yeah but get your arcane up to 10 and you dont have to be a wizard to get good effects from blast nova or any of the nova family

it scales in power depending on your skill level for that spell discipline - so a 10 in arcane might net about 30 for Blast Nova, while increasing arcane to 22 might produce something in the 60's.

THEN

for a Wizard their is Spellfire that can add on additional damage of almost 20 percent at level 10.

One of my test characters was a wizard/enchantress and the arcane level topped out at 38 plus 12 in spell fire and was consistently doing 170 per Blast Nova (..but that was a pittance in comparison to Cataclysm which netted about 525 * 5 per casting). :mischief:

..and note that was at the maximum difficulty setting.

I tested this.. it was changed, now there is no reason to go higher than the minimum requirement of what ever weapon you happen to choose.

Kinda bites for classes with learning bonus in magic weaponry and a big emphasis on drain life such as the cabalist.

I wish they had scaled back the skill to a reasonable level rather than completely nerfing. I mean not everyone farms 1000 moon beasts to get 30 magic weaponry.
