which fable is the best?
I just decided to make a thread on which fable ppl thought was the best? I honestly thought fable 2 was the best. It had the expression wheel, wheel of misfortune (sacrificing ), it also had "kinda good" pub games. I thought it was the hardest of the 3 fables (the final boss was extremely easy tho...). The second best is the first fable. It had the best pub games, the game was not that hard, but harder then fable 3. Fable also had the best will powers (i didn't like how they took some of the skills out for fable 2 and 3). In fable 1 and 2 it was harder to lvl up skills. In Fable 3 it was very easy to lvl up to 5. Plz post your opinions here about which fable you think is best

Fable The Lost Chapters
Definitely the first Fable. When the Lost Chapters expansion was added, it became the most interested by far. Much more interesting story and a far scarier enemy in Jack of Blades. Fable 3 was too dumbed down, even my non gamer wife thought it was too easy, and Fable 2 was great, but seemed to lack some of the first Fable's spark.

Fable: TLC, and Fable II were the best.
Now Fable III, it includes the marriage to other LIVE heroes and business partnership with a LIVE heroes. And if you're the king, then you have to decide to make albion better or worse, which is I like. But Fable III wasn't better than Fable II, and Fable: TLC is way better than Fable II.

Personally I'm a sucker for the old school, I think you can't get better than the original. That said. Fable II was the best. I just got done playing Fable III, and I was very disappointed with the whole game. The fighting system is a joke, the exp process is retarded, and the game was wayyyy to easy. The only thing that I thought was cool, was the weapons systems. Evolving the weapons, and having them grow along with you.. someone was thinking when they put that that little idea in there lol. I do hope that they continue with the Fable series, but that the creators take the criticism about what players are saying about the game.
1. Fable 3
2. Fable (TLC)
3. Fable 2
I've just finished playing Fable 3 and although they've dumbed down some stuff (though really not that much from 2 to 3) I have to say it is the best one because of the story and especially the last part, where you get to rule Albion. The choices in that part of the game are by far the most interesting in the series- I would have liked it to be longer, because it was too short!
The Fable series has never been deep or complex; not in terms of lvling, combat, simulation of life or even in it's choices or story (despite Molyneux's effort to convince us that it really is very deep - like the new magic system LOL!!!), but in Fable 3 I think they moved forward with choices and story (and isn't that what the series is all about?).
Fable 1 was quite enjoyable and had an acceptable story (you actually felt like a hero) and if they could bring back the skills from this game it would be a big improvement to the series.
Fable 2 had a lousy story that could have been good if the developers had invested some more time in it - the expression wheel was nice and should have crossed over to Fable 3. The side quests of Fable 2 however are, for the most part, probably the most boring quests in the series - I felt nothing, nothing I say!

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed Fable III-- enough to play through it a good four times. I enjoyed most of the mechanics and actually really liked the story-- especially the part about the darkness. I thought that actually being the King of Albion was a great touch. Though the way you interacted with NPCs annoyed me somewhat, it was still decent.
While I did play through Fable II and enjoyed some aspects of it, it's easily my least favorite of the series. I extremely disliked what they did with the magic system. Though I realize Fable III uses a very similar system, I found it refined enough to actually marginally enjoy; weaving spells, for example. To this game's credit, I did like the jobs system, and had fun turning off safety and slaughtering townsfolk.
The original Fable (and The Lost Chapters) is easily my favorite-- it's probably one of my favorite games, period. The story and characters were amazing. I could go on for days about things I like in the game. Personally I just found it amazingly well-done. I've played through Fable hundreds of times and it is the one game that I never get tired of going through.
On a side note, I think the Demon Doors in the first game are the coolest, as well.

I think the best Fable is Fable I, II, and III combined. I've been growing up playing Fable since the first one and proud to say I understand Fable world more than my real world ;-P. I love all of Fables but I wish there will be a new Fable that combine all the good things in the last 3 Fables - great story, beautiful landscape, interested characters, good playing strategies, not so hard not so easy so everybody can play. And more randomly funny joke between civilians in game ;-D.
Long live Fable!
