Console or PC?
I have a 360 right now but i plan on buying a new system and i was just wanting to know should i buy a Console or PC and why?
personally I prefer a PC but the consoles have some advantages as well. I've been using computers since I was an infant though so they're what I'm used to. also PC games tend to offer customisation that Sony and Microsoft take a bizarre dislike to allowing their customers to have, even games that don't have a proper toolkit often have some degree of mods even if just retextures
PCs also tend to, overall, be more powerful than consoles in the long run since new PC hardware is released a lot faster than new generations of consoles, the downside of course is that PC's are more work to keep up to standard (although they don't need upgrading all that often)
mostly though the biggest difference comes down to software. there's a lot of games exclusive to a particular platform, more often a console than the PC, I suspect largely because there's no big company profiting from all PC sales so nobody's got the incentive to offer an exclusivity deal to the developers/publishers like Sony and Microsoft do. on the other hand the PC games that are exclusives are usually so either because they're niche titles that aren't expected to be popular on consoles, or because porting them to console is impossible or impractical. console gamers are starting to be recognised as having similar tastes as PC gamers nowdays though, so games are less likely to be branded as "too grown-up" for consoles
overall, there's no real right answer, it just comes down to what will suit your wants best

I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me
The big advantage with a PC is that it makes all the third party mods for games like Oblivion and Fallout 3+ available to you; and with those two particular games, that means an awful lot.
Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.
And everything is hidden in the fine print.
If you want to play turn-based RPGs, console is your only choice.
Since you have 360, get a Wii or 3DS. PS3 and gaming PC seems redundant, no?
I wouldn't buy a gaming PC unless there are new, good, PC-exclusive games that demand powerful hardware that you want to buy. And those are few and far between these days.

If you're looking for a PC, I've had my eye on this little number. I have an uncle and a few friends who own this laptop or have come into contact with one and say it is well-worth the money. I plan on getting one soon myself.
Besides, Alienware has always been one of the best when it comes to gaming laptops.
If you are looking for an upgrade for your 360, I recommend grabbing a 4GB "slim" model and popping your old 360 hard drive into it. You can google the procedure to make this happen, as there are a few different ways. Or, if you don't like tinkering, you can shell out an extra hundred USD for the 250gb slim-- though I have no idea if you can transfer your old files to the internal hard drive of the slim.
If you're looking for a PS3, I'm not sure if the PlayStation Network is back up and running yet or not. The hacking makes me pretty skeptical. However the PS3 has a lot of awesome games if you don't mind not being able to get online with it for the time being.

"And on the third hand..."
(Quick! Get an octopus!)

I wouldn't imagine playing tekken, mortal combat & co, as well as platform games on a PC. Also isometric view games are somewhat easier to get into on a console. An up-side of the consoles is the fact that you don't have to upgrade that often.
However, if you can afford it, every game not mentioned above is always better on PC. Patches, Mods, Mouse targeting, more buttons, customization, multitasking.
