TW2 - Troll Trouble - any conseques to killing the troll?

I read from someone earlier today that by killing the troll for the quest, you miss something later. I'm just curious if this is accurate, and if so, what?

I still didn't exhaust all the choices and consequences in the game through two of my playthroughs, but I don't think that the Flotsam troll has any significance on the later acts. Anyway as far as trolls go (spoiler):

I've met three trolls total in act 2, one of them was hostile, the other two you could talk with or kill them if you really want to

I suppose you mean The Troll Contract quest in Act I?

If you kill the troll you get his tongue for the amulet right away. If you spare him instead you will get another quest and eventually obtain the Troll tongue without killing this particular troll. Moreover, the grateful Troll will give you a nice reward. So, by killing the Troll you miss some content.

There are no remote consequences, as far as I know.
