skyrim guilds
im sure there will be the normal fighters, mages and thievs guilds, but what sort of assassins guild will there be, in daggerfall there was the dark brother hood, in morrowind was the morag tong, and dark brotherhood again in oblivion. i wondered if there was going to be the DB or morag tong in skyrim, because i seemed to like the morag tong a bit better, and i was hoping for that or somthing new, and i hope the thieves guild is different to get in, because in oblivion you can go to prison for murder and the thieves guild will try to let you in, it makes no sense.
In one of the recent gameplay videos made for E3 Todd Howard said that the three main factions in Skyrim are going to be mage, fighters and thieves guild. I don't know if that means that there won't be any other factions or just that any other factions won't have as big a questline as the three main factions.
It could very well be an example of the infamous "streamlining" developers are so fond of these days - with arguments along the lines of: "every faction can always be reduced to catering for three different classes figther, mage and thief, so we have simply cut away the other confusing factions."
It would be weird if they didn't implement some assassination missions with the new kill moves - if you play it on pc there will always be a mod to fix such "issues".
Maybe the lore indicates that assassin guilds just doesn't have a big place in Skyrim, but then the Dark Brotherhood is illegal every where in Tamriel and thus operates in realtive secrecy where ever they maintain a presence.
Personally I'm hoping for a possibility to join up with one of the more political factions that seems to be indidcated (the king is dead, there's a civil war, some of the nobles want to secede from the empire others want to remain within it etc.). It would be really cool if you could get deeply involved in those political struggles, instead of it just being a background to the main story.

it'd be odd if there wasn't an assassins guild since they seem to be the most popular, especially out of Oblivion. the cynic in me wonders if we'll see a Dark Brotherhood DLC though if they're not in the release version
oh well, least it'd still beat horse armour

I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me
Yeah that would be far out, though I won't put it past them (or any other large developer for that matter). I would be pretty annoyed, but I would probably also be stupid enough to buy the dlc anyway - only if I enjoy the game of course and I have good feeling about Skyrim and when I get a feeling, I get a feeling
