TW2: Which armour?

Post by GawainBS »

I'm in Chapter 2, Iorveth's path. About to lift the curse.
Now, should I buy the Dragonscale Armour, or the plans for the Draug Armour, or buy neither? My main focus is Sword Fighting.

Thanks in advance!

Spoilers ahead:
Spoiler
At that point, I got the Dragonscale armor (you can get it immediately at the beginning of chapter 2, provided you have the money) because until you get crafting materials from Draug (end boss in chapter 2) you won't meet any crafters to make it in Act 2.
Anyway, once you get into Act 3, best armor with 30 armor and fighter's stats (vitality and resistances) will be available right from start (get down into the sewers using the entrance near The Mighty Numa and then turn right to defeat two bullvores, and loot Vran's Armor diagram and some of the necessary ingredients, you might need to have done at least some of the quests in the Mystic River series to be able to loot all the stuff, I'm not too sure on this one as I always complete all my sidequests). Draug armor therefore has no value whatsoever.

I won't recommend anything specific, as I don't remember the statistics, but usually the crafted armours are better - and cheaper, if You already have all the ingredients for them.

I remember getting quite a nice piece of armour in the caves beneath the war camp in 2nd chapter. I don't know how it compares to the two You have Your eyes on though.

Just don't do what I did: saved all the money until the final chapter, bought the best (and the most expensive) armour in the shop there, and then chucked it away 15 minutes later, when I've stumbled upon probably the best gear in the game - for free.
