Would you purchase an expansion?

Post by AGustofWind »

This might seem like a silly question here, but would you buy an expansion to Bloodlines if it were somehow made? Obviously, there is an almost 0% chance that an official expansion would be made. I think we have to be content with a modding team creating one, and even such a feat as that seems a long way off, as from what I know even the modding tools that are released still have quite a few limitations.

I've been penning a story for a modest add-on, more as a hobby than anything, but if a saw a professionally made expansion, whatever the source, I wouldn't hesitate to download it.

Also, perhaps just to stimulate some lively discussion, what locations would you want your character to be able to travel to?

In a heartbeat. But that's probably because World of Darkness is one my favourite RPG settings and VtMB is in my top 3 favourite RPG games. Malkavians forever!

As far as what locations I'd like to visit. Shamely enough, I didn't really investigate about World of Darkness too much outside the mentioned game, so I don't know what places are caught by secret vampire societies ruling over humans. But for sure anywhere where I could find some proper vampire action :) Europe, I guess.

I'd love an expansion, sequel, even a remake

I'd probably pay for an official remake/expansion pack, but I wouldn't pay for an unofficial expansion, unless it reached some legendary level of quality.
Sage plays a paladin,
because other classes would be frowned upon for laying their hands on a wounded companion

Well, of course, it wouldn't be legal to charge for an unofficial mod anyway, I don't think. But all this talk about a remake...well, I would personally love that and I think it would breath new life into the game. Very low chance of happening though.

I'd pre-order a sequel or expansion. VtM: Bloodlines is one of my favorite games (and, I must admit, it's surprising to me that is the case; it was a game I had very moderate expectations for at the time of purchase). I'd love to see a game set in Chicago (the original WoD modules for that city are pretty amazing). But, there are a number of interesting locales that could be explored.

Yeah, I'd buy it, even if it is a remake.

As for the locations... I'm not so familiar with the whole World of Darkness setting, but I guess that Egypt, Italy, London and Paris would be very interesting places.

Err yes - I would love to see an expansion or even better a wellmade remake.

Even if I have to say despite the little success of VtMB its an awesome game and a remake could very likely not get close to the original.

The most favorite choice would of course getting those guys from Troika back together again, add a good management, and let them create a completely new Vampire : The Masquerade game.

Without a moment's hesitation. I love the World of Darkness, both new and old.
Wishing upon only one star seems like a failure of imagination.
