How do you defeat letho!!!

Post by mtl1969 »

He is impossibly quick. You block Letho's sword he gives you magic. You give him magic he throws a bomb. And all the while he is in a protective barrier. How do you kill this monstrosity.

He's a tricky bugger to beat.
I've managed to do it by luring him onto Yrden traps, rolling around him and stabbing him in the back.
When his Quen sign is up and when he's throwing bombs though, the best thing to do is just roll around like a circus escapee.

And don't despair. This for me was one of the harder if not the hardest fight in the game.

Exactly what the previous poster said. Letho uses Quen, Aard and Igni, along with poison (green) and explosive (red) bombs and sword of course.

If he has Quen shield up (a lot of lightning around him) just run away from him while pressing dodge all the time. When the shield is about to go down use Yrden. He's resistant to it, but he'll get trapped like 30% of the time, maybe more on lesser difficulties.

He casts Aard whenever you get close on him. It means that you shouldn't do any combo attacks because he'll just blow you away with an Aard, maybe just some fast hits here and there.

Igni is one of his ranged attacks, along with the bombs. It will send you flying if it hits, much like explosive bombs. Simply dodge in circles around him and once his shield is down, lure him into Yrden.

When he's encased, get behind him and whack him with 3-5 strong attacks. Rinse and repeat until he reaches 50% of his health, that's when the fight ends with a cinematic.

I'm assuming this is the fight in the elven bathroom in the first act.

I struggled with this for a bit, before finding a painfully easy routine.
Dodge while he's under Queen. When Quen drops: Ard him and do a 4 hit combo, repeat until out of vigor and go back to dodging.

Works like a charm.

If you can't defeat him with good old fashion swordplay ( Quen, one or two strong hits and evade, since he can't maneuvre as fast as you) There is cheap way to do it. quen and grapeshot bomb spam....It works better in the end.

He was pretty hard the first few times. I got a great rhythm with aard and chopping him up. Killed him in record time taking very little damage. the aard would knock out his quen, and another put him off balance- had aard 2 and magic intensification 2.

I think the most embarrassing try before that was me getting killed by the stupid campfire nearby while Letho stood and watched, just couldn't get out of it
