Problem killing ALL werewolves on Werewolf Island (spoiler)

Post by Drogar »

After I completed the 4th level of Balduran's ship and went back to the village I stopped to talk the gatekeeper and he said, "Hail might heroes! My duty here is done! The gates stay open forever more!" That would seem to indicate I've killed all the werewolves. However, when Kaishas Gan asks if I've killed all the beasts, Abdel replies, "I have not killed them all yet. I will keep trying."

Huh? I am certain I killed all the beasts in the North area. I went back and roamed around all over the place looking for more. I did find one or two, but I think they will just keep regenerating. I am wondering if the problem could be related to the unusual way I ended up killing Karoug. This is how I did it.

My two strongest characters both have fire protection rings. So, I equipped both of them with Arrows of Detonation, had them go up to the 4th level, and let loose. Then before the beasts could attack them I sent the two characters back down to the 3rd level and upped their HP. Then I repeated this process. The third time the characters went up to the 4th level something weird happened. Only Karoug was there. He never changed into a Greater wolfwere. And, the circle around him was BLUE, not RED. And, he kept repeating over and over something like, "Just give me a reason to put my hands on you." I finally had all my characters attack him. He never turned into a beast or fought back. After many, many hits he went down. I did not find Deladan.

Do you think the way I killed Karoug is the problem? Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to load an earlier save. (I really do not want to avoid an earlier save because it is WAY back from that point.)

Thanks.

I have never played Werewolf Island, but not speaking to enemies who want to talk to you before fighting them CAN cause problems. I recommend doing one of the following,

1. CLUA console the werewolf boss in, have him talk, then kill him.

2. If you can't get back to the mainland then cheat your way back to Ulgoth's Beard.

3. Re-Load your save (which is obviously not Ideal...)

I did go through dialogue before fighting

Jared,

Thanks for replying. I did go through the dialogue before starting the fight. That's what's strange.

Oh! My mistake... :p
Well then I definitely think you should re-load, or can you still leave the island?

You may have talked to him but you didn't get him to turn hostile... Try clua console to get him in and fight him when he's hostile like you're supposed to. Might be what's wrong, if not you may have to reload :(
