Experience Cap & The Gate...

Post by Jared4224 »

Hello Fellow Gamers! :D
I have a couple of questions... :o

1: Can someone recommend a mod that disables the Experience cap? I have Tutu & a handful of other mods. I would Prefer one that uses Weidu.

2: I wonder... is their a way into the Gate early? maybe a mod that allows the NPC to go into Baldur's Gate Earlier...

3: I am currently soloing a Thief, but am torn over which kit to use. It should be noted I have the Swords & Song mod, & Rogue Rebalancing.

Thanks In Advance! ;)

You can find one here I suggest the BG2 & ToB Level 50 Patch & XP Cap Remover by TeamBG, but with the obvious caveat that you do so at your own risk. I've never had problems with it, but this game can be dicey when installing mods, the load order is finicky.

You can get into Baldur's Gate early using the console (check the sticky thread on here), but be aware it's possible to screw up the main quest doing that.

As for which kit, it comes down to personal preference and playing style and future intentions. If you are wanting the best backstabber, then Assassin is the obvious choice, the swashbuckler is a better fighter though, personally I've never bothered with a Bounty Hunter. If you intend dual-classing at some point then the second class may make a difference. If you intend becoming a mage for example, then probably the backstabbing won't be so useful.

I am playing BG1 Tutu, but the link brought me to some BG2 mods. I was looking for a mod that has no experience cap for BG1. Unless the mods can also be used BG1...

Since Tutu runs on the BG2 engine it'll work for Tutu.

But really, the G3 Tweakpack has a component that removes the XP pack and a whole bunch of other goodies besides, uses Weidu, and is IMO generally a must-have for any BG2/Tutu playthrough.

Thanks Ode, the mod works perfectly :D
I do have an additional question... Why can't bards use Rings Of Wizardry? doesn't make much sense, but why do you think this is?

No worries.

Dunno about the Bard/RoW thing, but as far as mods go you might also like the BG NPC Project, BG Unfinished Business, and if you can get it to work Level 1 NPCs.
