tutu character arbitration

Post by Claudius »

It says that I can hit 'c' for character arbitration in my keybindings, but nothing happens when I do that using tutu. Not sure if it is a tutu issue.

What I want to do is kick montaran out of the party and learn mage scross with xzar.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

You may have to check your keybindings in your configurations menu. Nonetheless, you should be able to manually do it through the character page ("R" if memory serves) and click the "reform party" button.

I'm hoping that this helps. I was unable to find any documentation within the readme for tutu about changing keys.

Thank you!

I didn't realize it was in the character tab 'r'..

I did do some looking up the character arbration key and it turns out that is for a multiplayer game where you can delete and create characters.

Going pretty good. I was dissapointed that the scroll memorization only gave 10 xp :speech: unlike BG2 but I guess that would be too easy. Got the girldes and the flamedance ring, I think I will keep the girdle I know its a girdle masculinity and piercing (because I reloaded after a playthrough to beregost). Imoen has almost leveled up which will be a nice change. Going to clear the area east of candlekeep now.

I am taking imoen to level 4 rogue because she doesn't have good backstabbing stat anyway. So she will have 75 more points and I am going to put locks to 80 and traps to 95 (I think I have enough).

Jaheira and Khalid are probably going to stay in the party for my frontline warriors. Along with my 18 dex 19 str/con rogue/cleric as 'off tank' though usually he will be throwing bullets. Sling is getting my str bonus, correct?

What do you think are good priest spells?

So imoen gets made into a mage and I need to find some other characters. I have fighter/priest/mage/rogue neatly covered. I am going to level up awhile with what I can manage for the higher rate of xp.

I am not going to use walkthroughs/advice to find easy xp anywhere thats part of the fun.

Look on the bright side, in the unmodded BG1, you get no experience for memorizing scrolls!

I don't think I ever dualled her to a mage myself since I usually play some form of arcane caster. In fact, it may be even worth trying a Mage 1/Other XX for a BG1 only playthrough.

What do you mean by "backstabbing stat"? Her stealth score or her multiplier?

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think that slings take the strength bonus into account. I recall that there is a special sling (Sling of Seeking +2) in BGII that does.

The spell selection from BG1 is different than it is for BGII, which is what you're using with Tutu, so I would get:

Level One:

Armor of Faith
Bless
Protection From Evil
Remove Fear (situational)
Sanctuary (This gives you time to cast spells in combat, or to run around and charm every enemy on the map with Algeron's Cloak.)

Level Two:

Aid
Barkskin
Draw Upon Holy Might (crowd favorite)
Hold Person (a lot of enemies have low saving throws during such early levels)
Resist Fire/Cold (situational)
Silence 15' Radius (situational - you can usually initiate with casters by backstab, thus not even using the spell)

Level Three:

Animate Dead (It's not the same as the six skeletons from BG1, but it's fodder)
Call Lightning (For outside battles - this is a really strong spell)
Glyph of Warding (slightly worse version of Skull Trap)
Dispel Magic (For removing mage protections)
Cure Disease (While you can ignore this in BG2, it can end up doing a lot of damage in BG1)
Holy Smite
Protection from Fire (Primarily against traps)
Remove Paralysis
Summon Insects (This shuts casters down)

Level Four:

Call Woodland Beings (I'd consider this spell overpowered.)
Free Action (Situational - you'll know when you need it)
Holy Power (Along with other buffing spells, this could make you into a very decent fighter)
Mental Domination (Many enemies fail their saves.)
Neutralize Poison (Situational - Poison will kill you quickly at early levels - you'll know when you need it.)
Protection From Lightning (When enemies cast their Call Lightning spell, you might want to use this or take the battle inside)

I can't remember if Tutu holds the 160000 XP cap that ToSC did, but generally, in BG1 you shouldn't be able to cast anything higher than level four spells as a priest.

You aren't mistaken, they should but they don't. I'm not even sure the Sling of Seeking does as it's the bullets that decide the damage so they would have to add the strength bonus, and none do.

PS IIRC the same is true of darts.

I wish you could make a F/T/C that would be very nice

Thanks for the confirmation Galraen.

Claudius, I've thought about that as well, many times, and in my opinion, the only thing that a fighter would offer, aside from a good base THAC0 and base attack speed are his HLAs, namely Greater Whirlwind and Hardiness, and to a lesser extend (I know that people love this one) Greater Deathblow, as well as Critical Strike, which should be a favorite for Fighter/Clerics.

Anyway, any spellcaster can fake being a fighter well enough to actually become better than a fighter. A Cleric/Thief can achieve that by using buffing spells (and mage scrolls) as well as the active and passive item abilities.

I am pretty sure that all slings get the str bonus as long as they are using ammo and not ghost bullets. This is with official patch only, not sure if G3 changes it.
