Permanent puppet mode?

Post by Marmus5692 »

If I choose my party when leaving crossroad keep, my party members refuse to follow me or to fight. It's as if puppet mode is turned on and I can't turn it back off. The AI says that it's on but the members will only act under direct order. I was able to work around this by selecting my party at the sunken flagon, but now that I can no longer reach the flagon due to storyline restraints, that work around is lost to me. Can anyone provide a fix or another work around for this issue? (Steam user; Update Version 1.023 (1765) Final)

Commands all depend on the party member selected.

For instance say you have your character selected, then:

1. Right-click on that character (or their portrait),
2. Scroll down to the "issue command" and select the type of command you want. (i.e. "follow me" or "attack nearest".)
3. The party members should respond to this with various statements like "OK".
4. Finally, make sure that your AI is *on*. (..it's toggle button is in the bottom left corner of your screen next to the game menu.)

NOTE THOUGH:

IF you select another member in your party (perhaps Khelgar), and he has *different* commands for the rest of your party then you'll need to repeat the process all over again for him.

(..in fact it's generally advisable to do this for all of your party members - usually with the command "attack nearest". Sometimes however you'll want more control the spell-casters in your party - for them I'd recommend putting ON puppet mode before a tough battle and turning it off afterward.)
