Guardian of the Path - Black Slaad

Hey guys.
I got to the third and final Guardian of the Path in Hordes of the Underdark.
But this a-hole is a tough one! He resists all my attacks! I can deal some damage to him with superb weapons, and my animal companion helps a lot, but there's no way I can get him below Injured when he slowly regenerates back and kills my entire crew [Valen, Aribeth, bear and myself].
The only ones who deal any damage to him are me and my bear. I'm really stuck here.
I even tried equipping myself and Valen with ranged weapons, then running back to that remote little piece of land so that he can't reach us while we shoot at him. However, that way we can't get him below...uninjured. :S

I'm a level 26 Half-Elf Ranger with no offensive spells.
Please help, this guy is so imbalanced. :(

Damn I even got him to "near death" with the second method but then my ranger starts missing on most of his attacks like a [removed] [for no reason, his stats are unchanged], letting the creature regenerate all the way up. :( And if I go back across to fight it in melee, none of us can't even hit him anymore. What's happening??
This is unbearable.
I even tried using cheats but most of them can't be applied here, correct me if I'm wrong. I can alter my stats but the outcome is the same.

This is why I hate old games, they're so god damn broken it's more of a frustration than fun to play them. :mad:

Since you're into the console already, lowering his stats should help.

Old games aren't broken, NWN's bosses tend to have damage resistance which is really annoying if your per-hit damage is lowish. I don't know your build but with a half-elf ranger I estimate your character invested into dexterity rather then strength - which is bad against DR

Lol thanks, shoulda told me how exactly to do it. :P Doesn't matter at this point anyway, I used cows from hell cheat to get rid of him lol. I feel like a cheap whore but...meh.
