As for teaching method, I've had some really good experiance from Socratic lessons during my law studies. We used it for one semester and it was great.

When it comes to exams, I see no reason to learn facts or details. If you don't use them to draw your own conclusions they are absolutely worthless (unless you play TP with you friends :) ) And in your professional life, you're always aloud to consult booksm for facts and details. In all my exams (except for the ones I did in France) I've been aloud to bring my books. Instead, the questions have been focused upon reasoning, of understanding difficult issues and of argumenting one way or another. I honestly believe this is the way to go since in real life there seldom is one true answer to each question.

The best professor for me, is that one that transfer the love he/she have with the thing being studed the his/her pupils.

My teacher called Beth love so much arts, and explain art with bright eyes, that turn me in a art lover. My future as a professional was guided by she. I never forget her way to teach.

Needless to say, I was her prefered student too.

One day in class she says, looking at me, that she do Art/literature [and start to love it] because of her professor( i don't know him); she already know that the same happens to me.
[Sorry about my English]

Ps: I'm "Ivan Cavallazzi".
