99 berzerkers, 99 berzerkers....

Post by NorinBlade »

I have an.... interesting problem with Durlag's tower. After solving the warder riddles and talking to LOVE, I enter a battle. With Warders. About 99 of them. The text goes something like this:

LOVE casts minor globe of invulnerability
LOVE casts mirror image
LOVE casts some really awesome spell
FEAR casts invisibility
LOVE casts some really awesome spell
LOVE casts some really awesome spell
AVARICE hides in shadows
AVARICE hides in shadows
LOVE casts some really awesome spell
AVARICE hides in shadows
AVARICE hides in shadows
AVARICE hides in shadows
FEAR casts invisibility
AVARICE hides in shadows

Then about 20 FEARS start wheezing out of the bottom of the screen in a giant flood, then a dozen or so AVARICEs backstab my ass into oblivion while the 25 glowing blue GREEDs laugh evilly.

I have used gatekeeper to give myself 32000 hit points and then let the battle run. The lag is so intense that no tactics come into play. I just listen to the grunts and death rattles and level up chimes while the screen staggers along. The problem is, no matter how many warders I kill, more show up. There are piles of bodies stacked to the ceiling and the battle is still not done.

I returned to a save pre-entering the lower dungeon and re-done the warder level, and the same thing happens.

Any ideas how I can get past this? Understand that I cannot give myself the wardstone and walk around to the exit. There are far too many warders choking the path, and those 15-20 cloudkills make things tricky.

UPDATE:

So I used gatekeeper again, set all my stats to max, then fought it again. I put one character at each warder spawn point.

I talked to love, and then watched as dozens of warder clones spawned from the same four spots. With my 25's and five attacks and 100% magic resistance i killed them as they spawned. I let the battle run for five minutes or so then the respawns stopped. I mopped up the remaining 50 or so warders, plucked up the wardstone and then went to the next level. Then I used gatekeeper to restore my stats/proficiencies. I hope this glitch does not perpetuate...

I read of someone having a similar problem at Ulgoth's Beard.

Another way through would be to install Konalan's Tweaks and equip yourself with Scipio's Barrel and Hackmaster +12. Not sure if it's available if you don't have Tutu or BGT, but worth checking out. You really only need the sword as you get speed plus a massive attack, but being invulnerable would also help in that situation I suppose.

You're using TUTU right? These bugs seem to appear in it but not in vanilla.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.
