We are in the place with switches, and have, apparently, been spotted by the Harvester. We are, apparently in a state of battle with it. Not that it shows. We are in a room where we flipped a switch and got locked in. Clicking on it again does not open the way. Have tried this quite a few time. The switch itself keeps fading out and coming back. Have opened other switches without any problems like this. The atmosphere keeps turning red then back to normal. One of the dwarves keeps saying things like "it has become immune to magic attacks" (not that we have a mage with us) or "It is resisting our weapons" then says to change the way we attack. However, we are not attacking, and nothing appears to be attacking us. We are just stuck in the room and can't get out.
So, can anyone tell me: Have I hit a bug, done something wrong, or do I have to figure the way out?
Meh... tried to alter the thread header, and it still doesn't show 'spoiler' alert, but at least it's in the page header...

You REALLY should have put spoilers in the topic, because what you are asking for is, indeed, a SPOILER (highlight to read)
Good Luck!
Spoiler
The Harvester gains certain immunities based upon which state the room is in. In one state, it's totally immune to any and ALL Weapon Damage. In the other state, it's totally and completely immune to magic (such as Blizzard spell). The Harvester also can switch the state of the room as easily as you can, and exactly the same way as you do.
I don't know for certain, but elemental enchantments and poisons may bypass this switch, but the only times I did that battle was as a Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior/Battlemage, armed with both Magic and Sword/Shield, and as the Warrior Queen of Ferelden. For the mage, I just altered attack style (Immune to weapons? I used the Cone of Ice. Immune to magic? I used Starfang).
For the Warrior Queen (Human Noble Female Origin, speced as Templar/Guardian/Champion and married to Alistair), I used Cheat mode for Invulnerability, and whenever the dwarf said he was immune to weapons, I just switched the room back. Invulnerability was because I was doing the fight on Hardcore for the Achievement.
Those are the two ways I know of to defeat the Harvester.

Thanks for the advice on fighting, GoldDragon, it will come in useful if we ever get to fight the Harvester! But that isn't actually the problem. The problem is that though the darn thing SHOULD be there, from the comments of the dwarves, it ISN'T! We are not fighting. We are standing around trying to figure out how to either (1) get out of the room, or (2) find the Harvester who is supposed to be attacking...
Oh, and thanks for the heads up - have changed page header, but can't change thread header.

Went back to a previous save. I think I hit a bug, cos I've now finished it with no problems except the fighting!
