As anyone might probably guess, I like this game. But I don't like, or use, Broken World, for various reasons. I've seen mods around on the web, and there's one that specifically caught my eye - a multi-shot mod that allows archers to split experience with nature magic and, eventually, fire multiple arrows. Just the thing I wanted.
Trouble is, I can only find it integrated with a huge mod-pack (the Hotfix) and, not only do I not want all these modifications, I hardly understand how is this supposed to work or whether it'll actually work without Broken World.
Does anyone have any experience with those, or know how could I get just the multi-shot thing?
Mods? Specifically Multi-Arrow?

Well, that's good news
I can't seem to find any information on whether all the changes are implemented at once, or are there choosable components there. I guess it's all one bulk, as the readme just says to place the file in Resources folder...
I think I'm gonna give it a go anyway, some of those modifications look really great.

All right, I'm double-posting. But I thought someone might be interested in this.
I installed the Hotfix. Installed is a big word, all that's needed is pasting the file into the "Resources" directory. The game does not recognize previous saves after that, but there's a separate mod to fix this.
On the downside, there's no way of choosing what changes do you want implemented - all or nothing. This can be a little vexing as the Hotfix makes a lot of them - reagents properties, spells, skills... On the other hand, they are well thought out and balanced.
There are numerous features here, starting with big changes, such as experience-splitting auras allowing to dualclass ranged and nature, for example, ending with small tweaks that nevertheless make the game so much cooler, such as quivers and bowstrings. And I might have imagined this, or the game's performance did actually improve.
All in all, I definitely recommend this.

Heh, I can see how it might become indispensable
Just a thought, though - what's with those campfires? Why are they all interactive now?

Just letting know that there are some issues with the hotfix after all...
Having played for quite a while, I have found a number of strange bugs, bigger and smaller, in my game after installing Hotfix. This is sad as there was never a single bug in my game previously, even though I read about some on the net.
1) Characters will sometimes "forget" their autocast spells, and repeated manipulation of weapons and spellbooks is needed to set things right.
2) Upon entering the Snowbrook Haven roof with the ballista to fight Talon, I get the cutscene that is suposed to show him landing on the castle walls. The cutscene triggers, but Talon isn't there - the film just shows a few seconds of empty air :speech: Talon itself is present for the fight, though.
Now for the serious matters:
3) The cutscene that shows the "hidden entrance to Hak'u Caves" doesn't trigger at all, leaving the caves locked and the quest uncompleteable. Pity, as it's a lucrative little quest and it means Tanzi the dryad will be imprisoned forever
4) This is the most serious issue: upon completing the last task in "Servant's Haunt part 2" there are two commander Wethrils to fight, and one of them is immune to all damage. The fight is immensely difficult, as they both attack, and the immune one doesn't vanish when you beat him or finish the quest. In the end I had to lure him out into the forest and lock him in the vault beneath the mushroom ring.
Not expecting anyone to have a solution to those, but thought it would be a good idea to at least inform about them.

Well, if you are interested in any solutions or updates then there would be a homepage listing another (more) pleasant forum to post feedbacks - because the probability is rather low that i come here (exactly) when something 'evil' happens.QuenGalad wrote:. . .

Now concerning your issues...:
1) Forget? - Please explain. Which auto-cast spell? What was the type target actor melee, ranged, nature/combat magic) of the target actor? And what was the location of your party? Or was there anything suspicious else?
2) Under some rare circumstances it seems to happen that the Dragon reveals too early. Unfortunately i haven't got a savegame nor a step-by-step procedure to reproduce this bug, and also dying, teleporting or exiting the game between the different quest states may have some influence here.
Most important however is that there is a Dragon to fight - something that wasn't always the case without custom tunings.
3) Hm, the Servant's Haunt quest hasn't changed but several actor-related components have. I will check that.
4) According to the native quest design the gate won't open if you don't have talked to Morain (at the broken bridge) or to Hesla (in town) and accepted the quest to search for Tanzi - but i guess you did!?
However as i've found out also the placement of the corresponding trigger is bad, so for safety i will move the trigger a bit to close the gap.
Totally modded.
