Strange crashes

I just found my old Oblivion CD and installed it again. But i get some strange crashes from time to time, once every hour or something like that. I have installed the latest game patch and im playing with OOO patch 1.34b, but i got the crashes under 1.33 as well. Does anyone knows what i can do to fix it? Btw i have a newer high end computer and im using windows 7.

No, mine always crashed after been playing awhile, too. I put it down to my comp only just being up to the job, but if yours is high-end, it can't be that. I do know it is strongly advised to install after defragging, though.

How much free space do you have on the drive containing the paging file (virtual memory) usually that would be the C: drive?

If there is little free space then that could well be the root of the problem.

mine never crashes bt then again its the only game i have installed on my Xbox 256 MB hard drive

and i believe it only takes up 30 MBs

even thou i dont have the cd it still lets me play it since i permantly installed it

+ the extra memory 4 the shivering isles and the Knight of the 9 quest lines that makes 46 MBs total memory out of a xbox arcarde 256 MBs memory and its still never crashed

i also have all the halo's, both mass effects and all the fables installed on a extra external hardrive which has 1 GB memory

I think i will try and free up some space on my harddrive then.
