Minsc suddenly dies upon game reload
I'm on chapter 8, and have finished clearing the sewers of bad guys. At some point I decided to reload the game from the last autosave and when I did Minsc suddenly died and disappeared from the sidebar (impossible to resurrect). What the...? So I tried reloading from Quick Save and same thing. I reloaded from an earlier save and he is okay. I'm not sure what is wrong here, because he was fine during those autosaves and quick saves. No level drain or anything. What's going on?
He has abandoned you, like the evil barbarian that he is.
I say : Hurray! At least he won't kill Keldorn, Viconia or Edwin, if you happen to have them in your party!

Was he in berserk mode when you made the auto and quick saves? If he was and had very low hit points that might explain it, although I rather suspect you've hit a bug. Sadly the game has a lot of bugs, made even worse if you have a lot of mods installed and in the 'wrong' order.

Thanks...
Yeah, it sure looks like some kind of bug. He was not in berserk mode, as I actually never use that. I tend to leave a breadcrumb trail of saves ("Chapter 8 A", "Chapter 8 B", etc) now and then in case I want to go back in time a bit. I lost about 1 day of activity, which isn't too bad but I've never seen this happen before, it's weird.
The only other weird thing I saw in an earlier SoA chapter was when I marched into the Copper Coronet once, and as soon as I walked in the door, Yoshimo (who was not in my party but usually hung out near the entrance) suddenly gasped and fell to the floor dead. It was like he had a heart attack the second he saw me. After all I just spent a week fighting Beholders and humping Drow chicks in the Underdark, so maybe I hadn't showered in a while...?
Nobody had attacked him. And his dead body was always there when I walked in... For days... Weeks... (What a lazy Concierge this inn has!)
I later learned this might have something to do with an earlier battle with Irenicus, wherein I think Yoshimo was supposed to be involved as an opponent (not sure why... he was only in my party for a short time early in the game, but not when I fought Irenicus at Spellhold, so I don't know what the back story is as to why he would have suddenly appeared and attacked me there). I killed all the enemies who attacked me, and if one was Yoshimo, then some bug placed him still alive at the Copper Coronet until I entered much later on (after the Underdark and all that), then it immediately killed him off when I walked in. Very weird.

The Yoshimo death is scripted, it's tied up with the Irenicus plot.. Spoiler: Spoiler ends.
Spoiler
He's under a geas. If he's in your party when you meet Irenicus his part in the plot is revealed and you have to kill him as well. If he's not then he will still be in the CC unitl you arrive, then the geas kicks in and he dies.
