What the hell...

Post by Rad »

I found this trailer on YouTube. It shows a Mass Effect 1 preview trailer from E3 in 2006.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THIS GAME!?! They obviously had the game in this form in a semi-functional state in 2006, a year before it's release. Who was the idiot who decided that it wasn't good enough and that they should strip it down to a bare fraction of what it was?

Sorry. It just upsets me to see that Mass Effect 1, a game I really enjoy as it is, could have been so much better.

Really? I don't see much difference. Okay, Shepard seems... rougher. Which, design-wise, may be interesting. And companions are controllable, true. But other than that... The writing seems to be more of the same, and the leveling system, even if it isn't shown, is probably the same. The shoting robotic fellows parts, well, I'm no expert, but they seem more or less the same. They seem definitely, well, shootery. Which, well, good, I guess. Maybe I was expecting something completely removed from the final product :P
Anyway, I'm intrigued, what's so different?

It's the same with Dead Island.

Amazing trailer - boring, repetitive game that insults the trailer in every way.

Edit : Correct me if i'm wrong, but the trailer was made before EA bought Bioware.. Right? They 'announced' the purchase of Bioware in 2007, but 'tis does not mean that they didn't push for a crappy money making game.. Much like every single sports game since 90's

I bet a penny, that EA was behind the paragon ending for the game. The "OMG! Let's sacrifice some nameless soldiers and WIN!" instead of the "For the greater good" renegade one.

Ahh, EA, how i hate Thee.
