Hi there everyone!
Its been a long time since I played this game, and was just wondering if there are any quest related gems, or if its all just vendor trash? I seem to remember something like kings tears or whatever being useful, but then again its been like 5 years since I last played.
Thanks.
P.S. I didnt want to post a new thread on this because its probably been answered a million times. Sorry in advance. Im playing a kensai/mage build, and was wondering- with the new expansion- what is the best level to dual-class to mage. Ive heard 9, 12, 13, so im a bit confused which is best, and if they are refering to BG2 or TB. Thanks again!

Some gems may be needed to forge certain items in Throne of Bhaal. You can start saving them in Amn if you want, although generally I don't bother.
There are some exceptions where gems are used though. In Amn, you can exchange a beljuril for a certain item. So it might be worth saving one. Also there are specific quest gems although these items are usually fairly obvious and not sellable to vendors in a unmodded game.
People generally propose dualing at level 9 since that is the point when you reap the maximum benefit from the fighter's bonus hitpoints. Some people suggest dualing at level 12 for kensai because they get an +1 to hit and damage as well as an extra kai ability. The best choice is probably dualing at level 13 since as a fighter class at that level, you also get an extra half an attack.
In the end, it's really up to you. Dualing later means you'll have to spend more time as a mage while dualing earlier means you'll get your kensai abilities back more quickly but you won't be as powerful.

If you're playing without the Item upgrade mod then you can view a list of the items you'll need in order to improve items with Cromwell here and Caspenar here.
In addition, apart from the beljuril Fleabag mentioned, you'll need a diamond to improve the horn before you can improve it yet again with the beljuril.

[QUOTE=Darth Gavinius;1096098]Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.
