Best Class and Race

Post by MageRage »

What do y'all think is the best class and race, because personally I think the Breton is the all around best... for class maybe warrior or mage (mage is my fav.) but I y'all have different thoughts so let me hear them.

That is a tough question, because it depends on how you play the game. Are you roleplaying, powergaming, or something else? A build is generally designed to accomplish something, otherwise why fuss over it? Morals also may factor heavily into this.

This question is also impacted by any mods you might be using. For example, playing The Lost Spires & perhaps with companions like Vilja/Vonrica set to essential really changes how you play, thus how you build your character.

So, now that I have gotten off my soapbox :D , I'll try to answer:

Roleplaying: Imp/RedGrd/Nord (Noble class: Knight/Pal, Crusad, Cleric,) Good
Wood Elf/Bretton (Thief/Robber/Assassin/Sorc/Mage) Evil
Freak (Orc/Khajit/Arg/Dunmer) Good or Evil
Powergaming: Bretton (Mage/Spellsword) Good
Wood Elf (Archer Thief) Good/Evil
Something Else? Varies. Most likely depending on mods/mood.

I agree with you that Bretton is one of the strongest races. The + Magic with +perks & no negatives is just too good.

The most powerful 'Class' is pure mage, making sure you have at least one willpower related skill and one intelligence based skill set as minbors.

Race: Apart from the obvious Breton, consider a Dark Elf as their fire resistance can be a great help, especially in Oblivion itself.
