3rd Person View

Post by TheInvoker »

Ehi....
I found out thant many requested to have a 1st person even during melee combat....i'm asking if it's possible the opposite.
I explain:during many dialogues or lockpicking or opening doors etc.. the camera goes in 1st person view: even if i don't like it,no problem! The thing i hate is that 80% of the time the camera remains in 1st person and i have to manually come back at 3rd person..This is very strange because the camera doesn't even change when i switch weapon from melee to range, but it switches when doing these things.....
Is there anything i can do to fix this?
Thanks

It's a good point. I think people have dealt with that for so long it stopped being a bother to them, but it is still a good point.

There is no known workaround and Troika Games went bankrupt a long time ago. But ask Wesp if it can be modded in his unofficial patches. He is pretty much the only person that still works on Bloodlines. He's your best shot.

You can find him here at rare times, but I think you'll have better luck catching him at the PlanetVampire.com forums.

Yes i know....i can play even with this bug. Most of the times i just have to press the attach button to change the view but sometimes you are in those "no combat" area.
I am used to this bug but looking for a solution, yesterday, i found out people who wanted to stay always in 1st person and someone suggested to edit sime file and change "melee" with "ranged" so i just tried to ask the opposite.

I know Wesp is the only chance, that' why i wrote here...i won't subscibe to planetvampire just to ask this :) . i hope he can see this here; i'll send him a PM if day passes without answers....

You found me ;) . The latest version of the former first person mod included in the Extras folder of the UP does indeed remove any forced switching between for weapons so it should be what you want. Sadly the same approach is not working for the other actions though...

Well i never swtich weapons......i build pg as melee or ranged and i always use them that way so i have no problem in that.
So you are saying we can do nothing about switching camera in changing area (like open doors or going in the sewers) or action (lockpicking)?

I suspect so. At least when you change the "force_1st" camera setting of the lockpick to "noswitch", which works with weapons, it doesn't change.

I would suspect that there isn't even something like a third person lockpicking or door opening animation. After all most NPCs kick open the doors ;) !

No no....but in that situation 1st person is ok....but after lockpicking or opening the door, camera should come back in third and not stay in 1st!
